The Background

Chocolab was newly established in 2019, specialising in chocolate, pâtisserie and biscuit. The owner Aga Lee, who has completed his training and worked as a pâtissier in France, was driven to introduce the high quality of chocolate to the local market.

I was approached to help recreate his business card and brochure for the improvement of marketing plan. Without any brief and reference, Aga trusted me to visualize his ideas and bring him the most suitable solution.

The Solution

I designed the card and brochure upon the established logo and formulated a fresh new colour palette, which represents the rich texture of chocolate, the nature of the food resource, and the warm personality of the chef himself!

In the illustration of the business card, I used the action of pouring chocolate to connect back and front, as well as showing every piece you get from Chocolab is warmly handmade.

Reflecting the local market, weather and people, I created tropical, sunshine and passionate atmosphere for the brochure. In addition to the layout, I also organized the information and contents to ensure the flow of reading is fluent.

The brochure was originally used as a flyer to introduce the new brand, however, I advised him to add its products and menu to maximize the usage and increase the number of customer visiting in store.

The Outcome

Partnered with Sungyi Paper Co, I planned the timeline for print process, controlled the budget and delivered the finished art. Aga received the prints in his store with satisfaction, and the team gave a lot of good feedbacks for the new design.

Chocolat Chaud

Chocolat Chaud was one of the featured items on the menu. There were a lot of fantastic pâtisseries that the chef loved to create and explore, however, the very first one he wanted to make was chocolate.

Goal

Introducing 75% chocolate drink and chocolate using cocoa butter (obtained from the whole cocoa bean) to the local market.

Local Market

Kaohsiung located in the south of Taiwan is famous for many traditional foods, however, people can hardly find a quality Chocolatier.
